I'm Baaaaaaaaack!!!!!

Hey guys! I know, I know. It's been awhile. I've been busy! But! I HAVE been going to the gym! Although it's been almost a week since I've gone. I was training for my POWER Test. Unfortunately, I did not pass this time but I know what I need to do and what I need to work on to pass for the next time! Hooray! Not much going on, just thought I'd pop in for an update. I will try and update more! Will be going to the gym tomorrow! Wish me luck! Adios my loves!

Good Morning!!! I have some exciting news for you guys today, I was contacted about my blog and asked to post an article that ties into exercise and fighting cancer. It is actually a very good article and it made me stop and think about how many times I say, "I don't have time to exercise today." Please give it a read!



Fitting in Fitness- It is Easier Than People Think

Getting fit is something everyone needs to do. Not only does getting fit mean everyone will look better, it means they will feel better. A person that gets at least 150 minutes per week of fitness will have less of a chance of having heart disease, certain cancers and other health problems later in life than those who get no exercise. Everyone knows the benefits of exercise in their lives, which is why it is so astonishing that so many people find excuses not to exercise. It is common to hear people say they haven’t the time to work out, or that they don’t live near the gym or that they have a hard time finding the motivation to work out. This is no excuse; working out and exercising does not mean hitting the gym for hours a day.

Exercise can be anything physical, from walking to climbing stairs to taking a bike ride. In fact, getting approximately 21 minutes per day of exercise is so beneficial and so easy because it can be anything from dance lessons to swimming to playing with kids or grandkids. This is part of the reason why doctors are encouraging their patients with cancer, even the most rare forms such as mesothelioma to get up and get out of the house to get some exercise. The benefits, even for those that already have cancer, are so good that doctors are no longer telling patients to sit down and rest while they work on fighting their cancer.

It is no secret that quality of life plays a big role in the way a person with cancer responds to their mesothelioma treatment. Quality of life is both a physical and a mental state; a person that gets plenty of exercise is going to have a better quality of life than someone who does not exercise, which means they will respond better to their treatments. In the way of mental health, exercise makes people with cancer feel good and improves quality of life because it releases hormones in a person’s body that make them feel good as well as boosting their immune system. A person that works out is going to feel better about their body and health than someone who doesn’t and that will automatically improve their mood.

Additionally, working out with cancer will make the process of going through treatment so much easier. Treatments for cancer often come with negative side effects that include everything from fatigue to feelings of depression. Exercise can lift those feelings of depression and make a person feel less fatigued. Exercising with cancer is too beneficial to a person’s health not to do, any doctor will attest to that.

Hello my lovelies! Once again, it's been awhile! Things got super crazy there for a bit. Haven't been to the gym in awhile but I'm starting up again tonight! On a good week, I was going to Piloxing and Zumba on Friday nights but things have been so hectic and tiring at work that I've just been sleeping through it. But I'm going with a friend so that always helps in the motivation area!


I'm also hoping to try to start going straight to the gym from work. That way, I'm saving gas AND time! And then, my friend wants to try and start swimming on one night of the week and we've done it before. Not only is it a workout for the whole body but we get a lot of girl-talk time in and it's very very VERY therapeutic. 


But anyway, I'll update again soon (hopefully) with my Zumba re-introduction experience. :D
